We (Still) Hate Sheetrock

After much sanding and mudding and sanding and mudding, Jeff and Randy finished the walls to the future living room. The ceiling, however, is a different story. It is a mess. Looking at it, I don't see how they will be able to manage it. We are scouring our brains for other options.

BUT, as of now, the walls are finished and are painted! We have never seen this room look anything resembling, well, a room. Jeff started trimming the windows and we have purchased the heart pine flooring that we will use. We will use the flooring that was in the room (that there was not enough of for the room) in the upstairs master bath and closet.

Oh, and I cleaned up and stained the mantle with a light stain. I am very pleased with how it looks!

That mantle looks awesome -- is the window trim a new design or replicating old? Looks really good..

Thanks!

The window trim was made by my husband to try to match the existing window trim (there is one window in the room that had not been changed). I was worried about having a stained mantle and painted trim, but now I think it'll look fine.

The mantel is the original mantle that the previous owners painstakingly stripped... I love how it turned out!!
